Publisher Desc.  "Shanty Scenes" is the second part of a series of band compositions based on 18th and 19th Century whaling, or shanty, tunes. After a festive opening, "Cape Cod Girls", our musical voyage pauses at a bustling port, "A Rovin" continues through the calm latitudes, stops at majestic capitals and is swept to a storm tossed conclusion. "Shanty Scenes" provides an extended alla breve experience for the intermediate ensemble.
