Alfred D'auberge Piano Course
The Alfred d'Auberge Piano Course is a long-time favorite that fills the needs of piano teachers who want a basic piano course that develops in a methodical manner. Over three million copies of this beautifully designed course have been sold. Begins in middle C position and progresses note by note in opposite directions. "Notespeller" and "Recital Books" should be assigned page by page with the "Lesson Books." Folk songs, arrangements of classical melodies and original music by the authors give the student a broad exposure to a variety of musical styles. Book One has students reading from the treble and bass staves immediately with three short tunes in the treble staff and three short tunes in the bass staff. Next, the student reads from the grand staff and gradually, over the course of several pieces, all five notes in each hand of middle C position are presented. Later, hand positions change to middle D position, middle B position and C Major position, among others. Eighth notes, sharps, and flats are taught. Some teacher duets are included.
