It's easy to see why this striking overture is on many state music lists!  The bold lines and solid writing will show your band off well, and the individual parts are very playable.  This piece gives the illusion of being more difficult than it is.  This new edition has been reprinted with a full score, but nothing else has been changed from the older Norman Lee Publishing edition.
