Publisher Desc.  Gustav Holst originally penned Christmas Day for mixed chorus (SATB) and orchestra in 1910. This instrumental version for wind ensemble stays faithful to the original orchestral version with the vocal lines being covered by the brass or in the saxophones as necessary to achieve the choral harmonies of the original. Four carols are highlighted which include "Good Christian Men, Rejoice," "God Rest You, Merry Gentlemen," "Come Ye Lofty, Come Ye Lowly," "The First Nowell." Some are stand-alone carols and others are intertwined into a beautiful tapestry of musical lines.
