He is best known as having been the father of Wolfgang Amadeus, in the development and furtherance of whose genius he willingly sacrificed his career. However, along with the Cassation in G and Toy Symphony (once attributed to Haydn), the present concerto is one of his most famous works. Leopold Mozart died in Salzburg (Austria) on May 27th, 1787.
