A wonderful work that exhibits both the serenity and fierce energy of the southwest.  Mysterious percussion samplings and the haunting melody of a Native American Indian flute introduces a festive dance, highlighted with constantly changing meters that really bring the piece to life. As with works by Gilroy, the composition employs an extensive variety of percussion that keeps the piece interesting and always changing.  After winding down to a simple and pensive Indian lullaby, the original festive dance returns, slightly modified, driving to a fiery and intense finale.  A great piece!
