Edited by John M. Laverty. American composer William Grant Still (1895-1978) wrote Darker America in 1924, the same year George Gershwin wrote Rhapsody in Blue. It is one of numerous works written in the 1920s to incorporate elements of American jazz and blues. This edition is updated to meet 21st Century publication standards.
