Publisher Desc.  This work contains some "fresh" lively Renaissance vocal music available in both a traditional band format and the flex-style for concert band or orchestra. If you want to expose your ensemble to music from this period other than Susato's, look no further. The syncopation and rhythmic variety between Can She Excuse My Wrongs (John Dowland) in 3/4 time and Revecy venir du Printans (Claude Le Jeune) in 6/8 create a spirited experience of music from this era. Care has been taken to reinforce the rich polyphonic texture by cross cueing parts for bassoon, French horn and Tuba. Both versions are suitable to the "consort" practice of performing instrumental music by the same family or a variety of instruments that would blend together across the whole range. This arrangement will provide a nice contrast in genres on a concert program and serve as a challenging festival selection.
