"Whereas on the one hundredth anniversary of the dedication of the
world's most revered monument of freedom, the Statue of Liberty was honored
by a chorus of schoolchildren singing 'The Most Beautiful Lady in the World'
written and composed by Helmut C. Calabrese and Paul L. Calabrese. This profound expression of emotion was an
inspirational dedication to the Statue of Liberty's long service as a beacon
of hope and gateway of opportunity. It
is the intent of the One Hundred Third Congress to memorialize 'The Most
Beautiful Lady in the World' and dedicate it as the official anthem of the
Statue of Liberty. Helmut and Paul
Calabrese's song is a tribute to the Statue of Liberty and should be
preserved for generations to come"
(H.R. 2776, 103rd Congress, 1st Session).
