Publisher Desc.  Here is a set of variations for Woodwind Quintet on "Lamb of God, Pure and Holy" (O LAMM GOTTES, UNSCHULDIG), a wonderfully meditative hymn for Lent and Communion services based on the AGNUS DEI text. Featuring an original harmony and a beautiful, flowing countermelody, this arrangement is unique in that the variations are produced by invertible counterpoint that places each part in the upper instruments successively with each variation resulting in an interesting variety of voicings and tonal combinations. Musicians will enjoy being featured on the melody or the countermelody. It is a flexible arrangement in that ensembles need not play all the variations but may choose those that best fit their needs and abilities. Instrumentalists may also play their part as a solo with a keyboard. It is appropriate for Holy Week or Lent and for any Communion service and may be used to accompany congregational singing.
