Edward Mollenhauer (1827-1914) had some good teachers - Heinrich Wilhelm Ernst and Louis Spohr! He founded the America Conservatory method violin teaching when he moved to York City in 1853. Mollenhauer composed quartets and operas but he is best known today for two works The Infant Paganini and The Boy Paganini for violin and piano.
