The Eagle Soars Again
Publisher Desc.
The Eagle Soars Again is a celebration of the resurgence of the bald eagle as a viable species. It is a solo for english horn (which, in a sense) plays the role of the bald eagle. The chorus plays an equally important role, uttering the words "Eagle" or "Bald Eagle" in close to fifty Native American languages, honoring people who have honored the bald eagle for countless generations. Also very important is the percussion. The work begins as a lament (for an almost extinct species) and ends triumphantly, celebrating its renewed health and vigor.
