Carol of the Bells
Publisher Desc.
The well-known "Carol of the Bells" is an endearing Christmas carol that was composed by the Ukrainian, Mikola Leontovich, and made popular primarily in America by Peter Wilhousky. The English lyrics for this setting were written by Clarice Knight, the arranger. The principal characteristic of the piece is the familiar four-note ostinato which opens it. The dynamics are also very important to the overall effectiveness of the carol beginning softly and gradually increased to a fortissimo then gradually dying away as it progresses to the end. This arrangement is most appropriate for early adolescents (SSCB), but it may be sung by adults as SSAB voicing.
