Many uses give this outstanding original Advent anthem a place in every church's music library! The flexible format offers many performance options for Advent and Christmas. The first verse is a processional and the third is a recessional, while the second verse uses the familiar text Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus which can be combined with verses one and three or stand alone. Textual references to carrying God's light into a dark world offer the perfect opportunity for the choir to carry candles. The choral writing is easily learned and well suited for any size choir. It can be sung a cappella with handbells and/or keyboard accompaniment. Truly creative!
