Cutoff
Publisher Desc.
If you have ever been in a concert band, you have certainly experienced the ill-timed cutoff. Several times in this lighthearted piece you will hear the buildup and anticipation of a resolution that will never come. Skills developed include offbeat entrances, dynamic changes, and articulations. Ranges have been carefully considered to keep all instruments within an octave, clarinets are kept below the break, and a majority of parts are doubled in other parts. The piece can be played with flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, and trombone. Percussion is recommended but not necessary.
