Publisher Desc.
Jingle Bell Fantasy, (Sleigh Ride Gone Wrong), for full orchestra, combines the spirit of Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson (but this arrangement is almost a slapstick concerto!) with the melody of Jingle Bells by James Pierpont. Imagine a snowy, frosty afternoon with the sky so blue and the sun so bright, you must cover your eyes. You're wearing your brightly colored puffy coat with your woolly hat and padded mittens. Off you go for a glorious sleigh ride. All is well, until the horses take off, unannounced, pulling a careening sleigh as it speeds into a snow drift. Whew! The conductor asks, "Is everyone ok?" The orchestra responds with a thumbs up. The tuba, with some accompanying friends, starts the rescue, (a la John Williams), with the strings close behind, playing a "Hahaha" laughing theme. Once the sleigh is upright, the riders continue cheerfully on their way. Enjoy teaching your orchestra to interact, using a little drama and dialogue, to entertain the audience at your next holiday concert.
