Inspired by the La Tomatina Festival held in Spain, this work was premiered by the U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" on the U.S. Capitol steps in June 1996, with the composer on the podium. La Tomatina is the second movement of "Sinfonia de Valencia." Very popular among bands around the world, this work has received several prestigious awards and numerous performances.
