Publisher Desc.  This choral SATB arrangement of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" attempts to capture the sense of glory and victory of the text as well as the military character of the original. Julia Ward Howe's lyrics, "Mine eyes have seen the glory..", were inspired by a military review during the American civil war, where the melody, "John Brown's body..", was sung.
