When Morning Dawns is an 8-Bell handbell arrangement of the hymn tune
CONSOLATION (sometimes alternately referenced as MORNING SONG) utilizing
bells F#5-G6 by Lauran Delancy. It may be rung with two people in 4-in-Hand
or four people in a small ensemble with 2 bells each. This arrangement builds
in the anticipation of Advent with eighth note movement. This piece is
available in an alternate key for those who prefer to play the piece with
more standard handbell assignment positions (most spaces in the left hand and
lines in the right hand) under the title When Morning Dawns (Alternate Key).
Common hymn titles associated with this tune are: The King Shall Come When
Morning Dawns, and O Holy City, Seen of John, and Song of Mary (Magnificat).
