A prolific composer, Stan has written, performed and produced 9 CDs over his 25 years in the music business. His works range from pieces for gospel choir and orchestra to childrens music.His notable works include: Hallelujah to the King (a celebration of the redemptive power of the blood of Jesus Christ in CD form and scored for chorus, soloist, and full orchestra), several Praise and Worship choruses, many octavos for gospel chorus, music for high school and elementary choruses, and much more.He is published by: Plank Road Publishing, Roger Dean publishing and has several songs in the Spotlight in Music textbooks of McMillan McGraw-Hill as well as Pearson (formerly Silver Burdette). In addition, he has several others works published through his company, StanSpott Music.ComposerAs a gospel composer his works have been performed at the Gospel Music Workshop of America, the Ithaca Gospel Music Festival, and in other venues throughout the nation. In 2011, Stan conducted an international choir and the National Symphony Orchestra of the Czech Republic along with Dr. Raymond Wise and Dr. Anthony Leach at the Gospel in Prague festival.As an orchestrator he has orchestrated the works of the following: Richard Smallwood, Rosephanye Powell, Glenn Burleigh, Kurt Carr, and others. He is frequently sought after to orchestrate music to accompany choirs.EducationStan Spottswood holds the BA in music education from the University of Charleston, and a Masters in Music Education from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. He holds Certification in levels I, II and III in Orff-Schulwerk and has presented at many national conferences. He has taught for many years as an elementary music specialist in Charleston, WV. He is presently the director of award winning choirs at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, in Olney, Maryland.MinistryStans ministry has spanned over 25 years, beginning with his time as minister of music and church Elder at All Nations Revival Center in West Virginia. He was ordained into the ministry by Bishop T.D. Jakes. He has more recently served under nationally known Bishop Harry Jackson Jr., Senior Pastor of Hope Christian Church and Prelate of the International Coalition of Evangelical Churches headquartered in Beltsville, Maryland. Stan is now on the leadership team at NorthStar Church in Montgomery Village Md serving under the leadership of Pastor Carlos Reyes.FamilyStan is married to his lovely wife Savolia Ellis Spottswood and has five children.
